"In the end, the division of voices had left her distressed"

"In the end, the division of voices had left her distressed"

I dunno if all writers face the same problem of butchering editors.
All was good when we had a proper subeditor who respected my voice. If she was confused she would voice out and ask me to clafify.
The Boss was not happy that she wanted to leave to write her own book so the task was delegated to the business vet and then himself to do the vetting.

And then all was gone..Initially it was alright a lil tweaks here and there, still within acceptable limits.
The writer was not bellowing just a lil hoarse.
And after the lil voice of the vet wanted to be heard more so she got a little louder.
The writer was reduced to a whisper and she lost her voice.

i hate it when they butcher the article and change my simplicity to flamboyance

There is a reason to it, we need to return to basics.
Returning to roots. Why adorn it with fairylights and plastik dewy flowers.
Why put in the effort when the glory ain't my deserving.. for the Prize isn't mine.
It's but in name my Work.

What is a writer if she loses her voice.
If taking a second opinion means to lose all of mine.
I'd rather not have any.
As i said am selfish.
You ask me if I had any pride.
My answer to you.. TOO MUCH..TOO MUCH.

"its like planting a gaudy christmas tree with ugly lightbulbs in a zen garden
well, they shall all hang like dead pigs in a store window in their next life
no apples in mouths either, thats decoration
they shall be dirty and dead and not so pink!!"

So says Le Paul.

*nods* Thanks for the quote and title.
